A heartwarming picture of star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha Shetty sleeping peacefully with the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy between them has gone viral on social media. Devisha shared a couple of pictures with the trophy and Suryakumar on her official Instagram handle.

Team India beat South Africa by seven runs in the ICC Men's 2024 T20 World Cup final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday, June 29, to lift the ICC crown. The triumph marked their first World Cup win since the 2011 ODI World Cup victory at home.

Following the Men in Blue's memorable win, Devisha took to her Instagram handle and shared a couple of endearing pictures with her hubby and the World Cup trophy. In the first image, Suryakumar is seen admiring the silverware even as Devisha smiles proudly. In the second picture, both are captured in deep sleep, with the T20 World Cup between them.

Devisha captioned the images and wrote:

"It’s going to be a good nights sleep 😴🪬."

Suryakumar was one of the batting stars of Team India's 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. The 33-year-old contributed 199 runs in eight innings at an average of 28.43 and a strike rate of 135.37.

Suryakumar reflects on sensational catch to dismiss David Miller in 2024 T20 World Cup final

While Suryakumar was dismissed for 3 in the 2024 T20 World Cup final, he made a key contribution in the field, taking a sensational catch to dismiss South Africa's dangerman David Miller (21 off 17).

The first ball of the last over bowled by Hardik Pandya was a low wide full toss, which was heaved by Miller. Suryakumar, at long-off, juggled the ball and completed a superb catch under pressure on the ropes.

While opening up on the catch, the India cricketer told India Today:

"Now it's easy to say. But at that time, it felt like a trophy was sailing over the boundary to the other side. But yeah, in that moment, you don't think the ball will cross the boundary line and go for six," he said.

"Whatever was in my control, I tried it. And wind was also a good factor at that moment and helped me a little bit. And we have done a lot of practice sessions with our fielding coach and taken a lot of catches like this. So when it comes to a game like this, our presence of mind is very important," the 33-year-old added.

Batting first in the 2024 T20 World Cup final, India put up 176-7 on the board and then restricted South Africa to 169-8 to lift their second T20 World Cup title.
