India first time won the T20 World Cup in the inaugural edition in South Africa in 2007. With their recent triumph, the Men in Blue also ended their 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.

Vikram Rathour on India's potential transition

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja have called it quits from the T20I format and the transition phase has begun in the shortest format with a new-look T20I team being sent to Zimbabwe.

While Vikram Rathour understands that it will be difficult to replace the quality of Rohit and Kohli, he is not too concerned about the transition in Indian cricket beyond the two stars.

Rathour reckons there are enough young talents who have the potential to become future stars and he hopes that the transition takes place in a controlled manner.

"It is never going to be easy to replace people of Rohit and Virat's calibre. I won't be too concerned about it (transition). We have a lot of depth in Indian cricket. There are lots of very talented and skilful players who are coming through the system. The only thing we need to make sure is the transition is done in a controlled manner. It needs to be gradual," he told PTI.

Vikram Rathour is hopeful that the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant will establish themselves as regulars across formats by the time Rohit and Kohli move on from international cricket.

He also feels the experience of Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya in ODIs will keep the Men in Blue in good stead.
