IPL 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after RR vs KKR match

Rajasthan Royals settled for the third position in the IPL 2024 points table after their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders got abandoned due to rain. RR could have finished second by defeating KKR in Guwahati on Sunday, May 19. But the rain gods did not allow a single ball to be bowled at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

Courtesy of the no result, RR and KKR earned one point each from this game. KKR ended at the top of the IPL 2024 points table with 20 points from 14 matches. Their last two league games didn't produce a winner.

Meanwhile, RR dropped down from second to third position after the Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings earlier today. They could have returned to the Top 2 with a win, but the match did not start. Hence, RR remained third, ending with 17 points from 14 matches.

SRH have grabbed the second spot in the standings, thanks to the no result. Even SRH had 17 points from 14 matches, but their positive net run rate of +0.414 was better than RR's net run rate of +0.273.

With the washout in Guwahati, all 70 matches of the IPL 2024 league round have ended. Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the top four teams in the final IPL 2024 points table.

All four teams will head to Ahmedabad now for the first half of playoffs. KKR will lock horns with SRH in the Qualifier 1 match on Tuesday, followed by an Eliminator between RR and RCB on Wednesday.

The action will shift to Chennai on Friday evening for the Qualifier 2, followed by the grand final on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
