"Luck will favor India because of their selfless cricket" - Ambati Rayudu ahead of IND vs ENG T20 World Cup semifinal

India & England Net Sessions - ICC Men
Rohit Sharma and his men will face a stern test against England in the T20 World Cup semifinal

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has been highly impressed with the positive atmosphere in the Indian team ahead of their T20 World Cup semifinal against England. Rayudu was present to watch the practice session of the players in Guyana on Wednesday and was delighted with whatever he saw.

The former cricketer shed light on the fearless brand of cricket that the Men in Blue have been playing, led by Rohit Sharma, who scored a sizzling 92 off 41 balls against Australia in the previous game. He feels that while luck has often deserted India in ICC knockouts of late, the same won't be the case on Thursday.

Speaking on Star Sports, here's what Ambati Rayudu had to say:

"There's a brilliant atmosphere in the Indian team. Everyone is quiet and composed. I think they are brilliantly prepared. Rohit has been calm as well and knows his role as well as that of others in the team. Whatever is controllable, they are controlling it brilliantly. The uncontrollable is a luck which ofcourse they will need. But I feel luck will favor India because of their selfless cricket."

Rayudu had gotten an opportunity to speak to Rohit Sharma while the Indian captain addressed the press. He was satisfied with the answers he got and hailed Rohit for creating a positive and secure dressing room atmosphere.

Ambati Rayudu on Virat Kohli's nets session

Ambati Rayudu also viewed Virat Kohli's practice session closely on Wednesday and was impressed with how well the star batter was timing the ball. Despite Kohli having scored just 66 runs in the T20 World Cup so far, Rayudu believes the star batter is due a big score which could come againsy England.

On this, Rayudu stated:

"The way he (Kohli) was hitting the ball and reading the length of the bowlers, especially the spinners, it just feels like a matter of time before he gets a big score. Just because he didn't score runs doesn't mean he is not in form. He just needs luck to go his way and I think the prayers of billions will make it happen."

Kohli has often turned up for India in the knockout games of ICC events and the Men in Blue would hope that he rises to the occasion once again in Guyana.
