On Tuesday, June 18, Ratnagiri Jets and Puneri Bappa met in the 29th match of the Maharastra Premier League T20 2024. Raigad Royals and Kolhapur Tuskers squared off in the last-league stage game.

Ratnagiri Jets defeated Puneri Bappa and topped the Maharastra Premier League T20 2024 Points Table with six wins and four losses. They became the second team to qualify for the playoffs race.

Eagle Nashik Titans were the first team to qualify with 12 points in their account. They moved from the first position to the second after the completion of league-stage matches.

Despite a narrow two-run loss against Raiga Royals, Kolhapur Tuskers finished third in the points table with five wins and as many losses. Similarly, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings finished fourth with the same record except for a negative net run rate of -0.198.

Raigad Royals and Puneri Bappa ended in the bottom two spots with 10 and six points, respectively.


Jets soar to top spot; Tuskers take third despite setback

Ratnagiri Jets and Puneri Bappa met in the first game. Batting first, the Jets had set a competitive target of 179 runs for five wickets. Dhiraj Phatangare and Kiran Chormale scored 38 runs each while Preetam Patil added 22 runs to the total. Ramakrishna Ghosh picked up two wickets for Pune while Rohan Kharat and Roshan Waghsare took one apiece.

In reply, Puneri Bappa struggled hard and managed to reach 172 runs, losing nine wickets in the process. Despite Suraj Shinde’s half-century and an unbeaten 23-run knock from skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad fell short by six runs. Divyang Hinganekar, Sahil Churi, and Satyajeet Bachhav claimed two wickets each for the Jets.

Raigad Royals and Kolhapur Tuskers squared off in the last-league stage game. Tuskers opted to field first and restricted the Royals to a mere 109-run target. Ajay Borude was the top scorer for the Royals with a 13-ball 33-run knock.

Shrikant Mundhe secured a three-wicket haul for the Tuskers while Nihal Tusamad picked up two. Umar Shah and Shreyas Chavan also grabbed one.

In reply, Raigad limited Kolhapur to 107/6 and won the game by two runs. Skipper Rahul Tripathi’s 26-ball 64-run knock and Yogesh Dongare’s 25(12) went in vain. Tanay Sanghvi scalped two wickets for the Raigad Royals while others took one each except Sunil Yadav.
