"Mujhe lagta hai woh bhi final me aayega"- Harbhajan Singh predicts the finalists of 2024 T20 World Cup

Former T20 World Cup champion Harbhajan Singh recently shared his views on the ongoing mega ICC event's potential finalists. He predicted India to beat England in the semifinals and Afghanistan to emerge victorious against South Africa.

The first 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal will be played between Afghanistan and South Africa in Tarouba. The second semifinal will be played in Guyana between defending champions England and inaugural champions India.

In a video shared by Instant Bollywood on Instagram, Harbhajan Singh was asked a couple of questions while he was travelling. When asked about India's chances in the semifinal, Harbhajan replied:

"Jeetega bhai, India pakka jeetega (India will surely win)."

He was then asked about the Afghanistan team's chances. The Star Sports commentator responded:

"Mujhe lagta hai woh bhi final me aayega (I think even they will make it to the final)."

Harbhajan is a part of the Star Sports commentary panel for the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup. The former Indian off-spinner has formed an entertaining pair with Navjot Singh Sidhu in the Hindi commentary panel.

2024 T20 World Cup semifinals likely to be close affairs

While Harbhajan Singh has predicted a final between India and Afghanistan, it is pertinent to note that the latter will be up against South Africa, who are yet to lose a game in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, India suffered a 10-wicket defeat the last time they met England in a semifinal match of the T20 World Cup.

Both the matches will likely be close encounters. Also, if rain washes out a semifinal, the team that finished higher in the Super-Eight points table of their group will progress to the final.
