The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that a three-member committee will review the conduct of the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup. As per reports, the review has been necessitated following demands for an inquiry from some directors.

The T20 World Cup was held in the West Indies and the United States from June 1 to June 29. While one of the aims of the event was to take the sport of cricket to a wider audience, as per a report by PTI, the ICC suffered losses in the range of ₹167 crore by conducting matches in the US.

A Cricbuzz report on Monday, July 22, stated that the ICC Board has agreed to review issues related to the conduct of the T20 tournament. Lawson Naidoo from South Africa, Imran Khawaja from Singapore, and Roger Twose from New Zealand will be part of the review committee.

"The ICC Board confirmed that there will be a review into the delivery of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. This will be overseen by three directors, Roger Twose, Lawson Naidoo and Imran Khwaja who will report back to the Board later in the year," the website quoted ICC as saying in an official statement.

Team India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, defeating South Africa in a close final by seven runs in Barbados. They were unbeaten right through the tournament.

The report added that USA Cricket and Cricket Chile have formally been put on notice for 12 months. Both boards need to go for course correction.

"USA Cricket and Cricket Chile have been formally put on notice and have 12 months to rectify their current non-compliance with the ICC Membership Criteria. Neither Member is considered to have in place a fit for purpose detailed governance and administrative structure and systems," ICC's official statement on the matter said.

An earlier report by Cricbuzz stated that USA Cricket (USAC) directors Kuljit Singh, Arjun Gona, and Patricia Whittaker have written an email to the ICC, accusing USAC chairman Venu Pisike of corruption and harassment.

On the field, co-hosts United States had an impressive 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. They stunned Pakistan in the group stage, registering a win in the Super Over and ended up making it to the Super 8 round.
