The Royal Phantoms defeated JK Super Strikers by 22 runs in the 25th match of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup 2024 on Saturday, June 22. Meanwhile, the BLV Blasters successfully chased a target of 142 runs against the Agri Kings Knights in the 26th game of the tournament today.

In the ongoing Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup 2024, the BLV Blasters have asserted their dominance. They sit atop the points table with a record of six wins and three losses from nine matches, accumulating a total of 12 points. Not far behind are the JK Super Strikers, who have secured six wins and three losses in their nine outings, amassing 12 points.

Trident Stallions, with five wins and three losses, see themselves occupying the third spot with 10 points. Meanwhile, Agri Kings Knights find themselves in fourth place with four wins and five losses amounting to eight points.

The Royal Phantoms fall slightly behind with six points in nine games in the fifth spot. Intersoft Titans languish at the bottom of the points table with four points out of the eight games played so far, winning two of them.


Royal Phantoms eke out a 22-run victory against JK Super Strikers

In the opening match of the day between JK Super Strikers and Royal Phantoms, the latter won the toss and elected to bat first. Batters Anmolpreet Singh and Sukhdeep Bajwa scored a 43-ball 50 and a 12-ball 42, respectively. They combined with Anshul Chaudhary’s quickfire 32 off 19 deliveries to help their team reach an above-par score of 184/6.

Anmolpreet Singh struck five boundaries and one six at a strike rate of 116.28. His partner in crime, Sukhdeep Bajwa, struck two boundaries and five sixes at a strike rate of 350. Meanwhile, Anshul Chaudhary’s innings was laced with four boundaries and two maximums. For the JK Super Strikers, Manish Sheoran (3/48) was the main wicket-taker.

Chasing a target of 185, the JK Super Strikers started to lose wickets in quick succession. They could only manage to score 162/8 in 20 overs, handing the Phantoms a comprehensive 22-run victory.

In the second match of the day between BLV Blasters and Agri King’s Knights, the latter elected to bat first. Skipper Mandeep Singh (40 off 23) was the top scorer. Rahul Kumar (30 off 24), and Abhishek Sharma (33 off 21) also made useful contributions, as the Knights posted a total of 141 in 19 overs.

In reply, BLV batters overhauled the target in 18 overs, winning the game with five wickets in hand.
