The final of the 2024 Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup saw the BLV Blasters lock horns with the Trident Stallions at the IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali on June 27. The Trident Stallions won the toss and elected to bat first, which turned out to be a fruitful decision. Skipper Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings for the Stallions, scoring 50 off just 31 deliveries.

Prabhsimran’s innings consisted of four boundaries and three sixes, scoring his runs at a strike rate of 161.29. Batting at No. 4, Salil Arora top-scored for the Stallions with his blistering knock of 78 off just 33 deliveries at a menacing strike rate of 236.36.

Contributions from Aditya Partap Singh (25) and Ramandeep Singh (22) further helped the Stallions post a total of 204/5 in 20 overs. Aaradhya Shukla and Simranjeet Singh-Gharu took two wickets each for the Blasters.

Chasing 205, opener Taranveer Singh just managed to score 10 off 11 deliveries as he fell prey to Harpreet Brar’s bowling. Walking in at No. 3, skipper Naman Dhir looked good after scoring three boundaries on the trot but was dismissed soon. Harnoor Singh by far looked the Blasters’ best batter, scoring 83 off just 52 deliveries. Anmol Malhotra stitched a good partnership with Singh as he scored a half-century.

As the Blasters were cruising towards their target, their wickets fell consistently, causing a lower-order panic. With six runs needed off three deliveries, Harpreet Brar launched one in the stands. The BLV Blasters were consequently crowned champions of the 2024 edition of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup.
