Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20Is a day after India's incredible triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue became the first-ever side to win a T20 World Cup title without losing a match.

As for Jadeja, he did not enjoy much success in the tournament with only 35 runs and a wicket in eight outings. However, his presence helped the side with batting depth and an extra bowling option, aiding team balance.

For his T20I career, Jadeja boasts impressive all-around numbers with a batting average of 21.45 and a bowling average of under 30 in 74 outings. The 35-year-old debuted in T20Is in 2009 and became one of India's most valuable all-rounders with his fielding being the biggest show-stealer.

Fans on Twitter congratulated Jadeja on his T20I career with the following reactions:

The wishes continued pouring in for Jadeja with one fan writing:

"Sir Ravindra Jadeja bids adieu to T20 cricket! Like Virat and Rohit, he too needed a break to balance professional and personal life. You'll be long remembered for your electrifying reflexes, breathtaking catches, and stunning run-outs!"
"Happy Retirement Sir Jadeja. Stood like warrior most of the times when team needed him most," wrote another fan.
"People are disrespecting Jadeja too much. His presence as a batting all-rounder and some quick knocks helped us have a peace of mind that someone is behind," tweeted a fan.

"With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals" - Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20Is through his Instagram handle a day after India's World Cup triumph.

He becomes the third from the World Cup-winning squad to walk away from T20Is after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The duo announced their retirement from T20Is right after India's triumph.

"With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I've always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats. Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 international career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support," wrote Jadeja on his Instagram post.

The 2024 T20 World Cup title was Jadeja's first World Cup trophy as the all-rounder was not part of India's triumphs in 2007 (T20) and 2011 (ODI).
