Team India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad has left from Barbados via an Air India flight arranged by BCCI secretary Jay Shah. The flight duration from Barbados to Delhi is around 16 hours. If things go as per schedule, the Indian team will land in Delhi on Thursday, July 4, in the morning around 6:00 AM IST.

The Men in Blue won the 2024 T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday, June 29 - their first ICC title triumph since 2013. However, the members of the team, the support staff, some BCCI officials, and even the Indian media covering the event had been stuck in Barbados for the last couple of days due to Hurricane Beryl.

According to a report in the Times of India, an Air India aircraft with call sign AIC24WC is bringing the T20 World Cup heroes back home. The special flight is said to have taken off at 4:30 am Barbados time [2:00 PM IST].

Earlier, Team India members were scheduled to depart from Barbados at 6:00 PM local time on July 2 and arrive in New Delhi at 7:45 pm (IST) on Wednesday. However, things did not go according to play due to the weather.

Team India's schedule after landing in Delhi

As per news agency ANI, after arriving in Delhi the Indian team will be hosted for breakfast by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11:00 AM. There were also reports of an open-top bus parade in Mumbai. Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has confirmed details of the same with a post.

Taking to X, he wrote:

"🇮🇳, we want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00pm onwards. It’s coming home ❤️."

It may be recalled that a similar open-top bus parade was also held after the MS Dhoni-led Indian team won the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa.

The Men in Blue were unbeaten in the 2024 T20 World Cup held in the West Indies and United States. Skipper Rohit was the leading run-getter in the tournament, with 257 runs in eight innings at an average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.71.

Virat Kohli was the Player of the Final for his 76 off 59, while Jasprit Bumrah (15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.18) was named the Player of the Tournament.
