Virat Kohli posted an Instagram story on Wednesday, July 10, of his picture with the T20 World Cup trophy. The Men in Blue created history in Barbados on June 29, when they defeated South Africa in the final of the ICC event by seven runs.
Virat Kohli had had a dismissal tournament until then, having scored only 75 runs at an average of 10.71. However, he was on fire on the big day, playing a crucial innings of 76 runs off 59 balls to help India post a decent score.
Indian bowlers did their job perfectly as the Men in Blue ended their 11-year drought of an ICC trophy.

Earlier, Virat shared a post on Instagram on June 30, after winning the T20 World Cup. He captioned it as:
"Couldn’t have dreamt of a better day than this. God is great and I bow my head in gratitude. We finally did it 🇮🇳❤️🇮🇳❤️jai hind ❤️❤️❤️."
The post has since shattered numerous social media records. First, it surpassed Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani's 16 million times-liked wedding photo to become the most-liked Instagram post in India.
After that, it rose to the top in Asia, breaking BTS member Kim Taehyung's record. He was the first Asian to receive 20 million likes on a single post. However, on July 8, it was noted that Virat Kohli's post had surpassed this milestone with more than 21 million likes.
Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20Is after the World Cup
The Indian veteran announced his retirement from T20I cricket when he came to collect his Player of the Match award after the 2024 T20 World Cup final.
"This was my last T20 World Cup, this is exactly what we wanted to achieve. One day you feel like you can't get a run and this happens, God is great. Just the occasion, now or never kind of situation. This was my last T20 game playing for India," he said (via ANI).
Virat will continue to represent India in the other two formats.
