Vitality T20 Blast 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after Yorkshire vs Lancashire, Match 64

On Thursday, June 20, six Vitality T20 Blast 2024 were played, of which two involved the North Group and four among the South.

Lancashire Lightning continue to dominate North Group with 10 points despite a second consecutive loss against Yorkshire. Warwickshire Bears solidified their second spot after registering their fifth win over Northamptonshire.

Leicestershire, Yorkshire, and Northamptonshire Steelbacks retained the next three spots, respectively, with eight points each.

Durham follow with three wins in seven games. Meanwhile, Derbyshire Falcons occupy the seventh rank with six points.

Worcestershire Rapids and Notts Outlaws are placed in the bottom two spots with four and three points, respectively.

Surrey occupied the top spot of the South Group table with 11 points, following a 56-run victory over Middlesex. Similarly, while Somerset moved to the second spot with 10 points, Sussex dropped to third despite a 31-run victory over Kent.

Essex reclaimed their fourth position, having won four games and losing three.

Gloucestershire switched their spot with Hampshire after the former defeated Glamorgan by two wickets. Meanwhile, both Hampshire and Glamorgan suffered their fourth losses on Thursday and are now placed sixth and seventh, respectively.

Kent and Middlesex complete the South Group table with four and three points each.

Warwickshire retains second spot in North Group; Surrey gets back on top in South

Gloucestershire secured a narrow two-run victory over Glamorgan in the first game. Glamorgan had posted a modest 141-run target which Gloucestershire chased in 20 overs, thanks to skipper Jack Taylor’s 48-bal 70-run knock.

Surrey had set a 186-run target for Middlesex with Tom Curran’s 48(28), Laurie Evans’ 41(20), and Daniel Lawrence's 32(29). Luke Hollman picked up a five-fer for Middlesex. Similarly, Surrey’s Sean Abbott also replied with a five-wicket haul and helped his side secure a 56-run victory.

Sussex grabbed their fifth win against Kent by 31 runs. With a 28-ball 61 from Harrison Ward and Danny Lamb’s 40 off 23, they had racked up 201 runs on the board. In the second half, Lamb shined with the ball as well, picking up a three-wicket haul and aiding his side to restrict Kent to 170/7.

Warwickshire won by 90 runs against Northamptonshire. While defending 220, George Garton, Richard Gleeson, and Jacob Bethell, who had scored a fifty, picked up two wickets each and limited the opposition to 129/9.

Essex registered an eight-wicket win against Hampshire in the fifth game. Bowling first, they restricted Hampshire to 166/7 with Ben Allison taking three wickets. In reply, Dean Elgar 60*(44), Michael-Kyle Pepper 44(24), and Jordan Cox 45 (25) guided their team to a comfortable win in 16.5 overs.

With skipper Shan Masood’s 61-run knock, Yorkshire had posted a 174-run target for Lancashire. While defending, a complete bowling effort from Yorkshire, successfully halted Lancashire to 166/8.
