Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh received a Guard of Honor from young cricketers at Jaswant Rai Academy in Chandigarh on July 10, having won the 2024 T20 World Cup. Earlier, he received a grand welcome in the city when a personal victory parade was organized for him on July 6.

Arshdeep played an important role throughout the tournament last month. He was exceptional with the ball in every phase of the game. The penultimate over he bowled in the final against South Africa on June 29 was perhaps the most crucial over of his life.

The Proteas needed 20 off the last two. Arshdeep was brilliant and conceded only four runs as South Africa found themselves under pressure. Singh took two wickets and only conceded 20 runs in his spell of four overs as the Men in Blue won their second T20 World Cup.

Here’s the video of the Guard of Honor:

Along with Afghanistan's Fazalhaq Farooqi, the Indian pacer took the joint-most wickets at the 2024 T20 World Cup. He picked up 17 wickets in the tournament at an average of 12.64 in eight matches.

“I was in disbelief” - Arshdeep on seeing coach Rahul Dravid show emotion after winning the T20 World Cup

The Indian pacer expressed his shock at seeing coach Rahul Dravid display emotion after the T20 World Cup victory. He said he saw a completely different Rahul Dravid that day. Singh was also happy that the team was able to give Dravid a well-deserved farewell.

He said to The Indian Express:

"Rahul sir has always been like ice. He keeps writing something in his diary. He keeps a straight face in the tense situations as well. But what I saw after the final… it was like watching a different Rahul Dravid."
"The way he was screaming with the trophy. I was in disbelief. He has done so much for Indian cricket as a player and now as a coach. This was a long-due reward," he continued.

Former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the new head coach of the India men’s cricket team.
