Team India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah put the final nail in England's coffin to deliver an emphatic 68-run victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal at Providence, Guyana, on Thursday. The right-arm speedster trapped Jofra Archer lbw to close out the game in the 17th over.
The dismissal occurred in the 17th over as Bumrah returned to complete the last rites. The delivery from the right-arm speedster hit Archer on the back boot, and the umpire raised his finger, but the Barbadian went for the review.
Ball-tracking showed that it would have clipped leg-stump, and the decision stayed, sending England out of the tournament and India into the final. Here's the video of the dismissal:
Earlier, England captain Jos Buttler had won the toss and elected to field first in a rain-marred fixture.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma top-scored with 57 off 39, while Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with crucial contributions to lift India to 171-7.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Phil Salt for 5 off 9 to plot England's downfall. With the wicket of Archer, the 30-year-old took his wickets tally in the tournament to 13 as he finished with figures of 2.4-0-12-2.
Axar Patel, though, was the pick of the bowlers with a haul of 4-0-23-3, dismissing the dangerous trio of Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler.
The inaugural T20 champions next face South Africa in the final on June 29 in Bridgetown, Barbados. The Proteas, led by Aiden Markram, are also unbeaten in the competition and beat Afghanistan by nine wickets at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy at Tarouba earlier in the day.
However, they will have to get past a high-flying Indian side in the final. It will also be the first time the two sides will play one another in a World Cup final.
