Marcus Stoinis gave a funny sendoff to Rahmanullah Gurbaz by flapping his hands as Australia struck after 95 balls in the 2024 T20 World Cup match against Afghanistan at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St. Vincent on Saturday, June 22. With the dismissal, Stoinis broke the 118-run partnership between Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran for the opening wicket. Gurbaz departed after scoring 60 runs off 49 balls with the help of four sixes and as many boundaries.

The dismissal came in the 16th over of Afghanistan’s innings. Stoinis bowled a length ball and Gurbaz danced down the track to heave it across the line. The right-hander got the ball high on the bat and holed out to deep square leg. Following the dismissal, Stoinis gave a sendoff to Gurbaz by gesturing towards the dressing room with flapping hands.

Sharing the video on Instagram, the ICC captioned the post:

"The Aussie all-rounder really loved that one."
