Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj received a warm welcome upon his arrival in his home city Hyderabad on Friday, July 5 following the Men's in Blue 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. Several fans gathered around the cricketer and shouted slogans praising India, while some also waved the tricolor.

India beat South Africa by seven runs in the 2024 T20 World Cup final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 29. The Men in Blue's return to India was, however, delayed by Hurricane Beryl. After being stuck in Barbados for a few days, they finally landed in Delhi early on July 4.

The Indian team had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the morning, after which they traveled to Mumbai and took part in a victory parade in Marine Drive, which was followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium. Both events saw the presence of a huge gathering of fans. Siraj returned to Hyderabad on Friday after attending both functions in Mumbai.

News agency PTI shared a video of the Indian fast bowler receiving a rousing welcome in Hyderabad upon his arrival in the city. The 30-year-old right-arm pacer had earlier urged fans to join him in his personal victory rally.

In one of his Instagram stories, he wrote:

"Seee youuu alll in Hyderabad."

The right-arm pacer played only three matches for Team India during the 2024 T20 World Cup held in the West Indies and the United States. Siraj claimed one wicket at an average of 57 and an economy rate of 5.18. He was subsequently replaced by left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI. The latter claimed 10 wickets in five matches at an average of 13.90 and an economy rate of 6.95.

Mohammed Siraj was part of India's playing XI in the heartbreaking 2023 ODI World Cup final

Siraj featured in the Indian playing XI in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He registered figures of 1-45 from seven overs, getting the Travis Head, who clobbered 137 off 120 balls.

India suffered a shocking six-wicket loss in the ODI World Cup final, after having been unbeaten in the tournament heading into the summit clash. Siraj, who was inconsolable after the Men in Blue's defeat, had an impressive tournament. He claimed 14 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 33.50, with a best of 3-16.
