Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared a screen recording of the details of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 final between India and South Africa. The two teams, who have remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, will square off in the summit clash on Saturday, June 29.

India booked their place in the final after beating England in a rain-affected semi-final on Thursday, June 27. The Men in Blue brilliantly avenged their loss from the 2022 edition of the 20-over World Cup, where England knocked India out of the tournament by handing theam a crushing 10-wicket defeat in the semi-final.

South Africa, meanwhile, defeated Afghanistan in the first semi-final to make it to their first-ever T20 World Cup final. India, who won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2007, have made it to the final after more than a decade.

This also marks India’s third consecutive ICC final appearance, after the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup in 2023. Ahead of the highly-anticipated encounter between India and South Africa, Rishabh Pant shared a unique 'save the date' video on Instagram.

India beat England in semi-final of T20 World Cup 2024

India and England squared off in the second semi-final of the 2024 T20 World Cup in what was a rematch of the semi-final of the 2022 edition of the tournament. The game was marred with rain delays, but fortunately, no overs were lost as the two teams played out a full game.

After being put in to bat first, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav powered India’s innings as the Men in Blue posted 171/7 on what was a tough surface to bat on. While it looked like a decent total, it was a challenge for the Indian bowlers to defend against a powerful England batting unit.

Team India’s bowlers passed the test brilliantly as the spin-bowling duo of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc, leaving the Englishmen shell-shocked. Patel drew first blood by dismissing the dangerous Jos Buttler, and what followed was absolute carnage.

Both Axar and Kuldeep picked up three wickets each and ran through England’s top and middle order. Jasprit Bumrah was brilliant as well, registering 2/12 in 2.4 overs as India bowled out the defending champions for a paltry 103 in 16.4 overs to win by 68 runs.
