How did India perform in the last edition of the T20 World Cup?

The 2022 edition of the T20 World Cup was played in Australia. The Men in Blue were in the second group in the Super Eight stage alongside Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and Zimbabwe.

They finished at the top of the table after five games, winning four of them, including a thrilling win over arch-rivals Pakistan. Their only defeat in the Super Eight came against South Africa when the Proteas successfully chased down 134 runs with two balls to spare and five wickets in hands.

Rohit Sharma and company entered the semi-finals as the overwhelming favorites to beat England and make it to the final. They were completely stunned by Jos Buttler and his men in front of a packed Adelaide crowd.

Batting first, the Men in Blue could only muster 168/6 in their 20 overs, riding on a half-century from Virat Kohli. With a star-studded bowling attack at their disposal, many thought the Asian giants were in the game. However, Jos Buttler and Alex Hales made a complete mockery of the bowlers, chasing down the target within 16 overs and 10 wickets remaining.
