What time is the India vs England 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal?

India take on England in the Men's 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, June 27. This will be a rematch of the 2022 T20 World Cup clash in Adelaide in which the Englishmen hammered the Men in Blue by 10 wickets.

India booked their place in the knockouts of the 2024 T20 World Cup by finishing atop Group 1 of the Super 8 round. England finished second in Group 2, winning two matches and losing one.

India and England will now aim to seal their berth in the final of the tournament by winning the second semifinal. The much-awaited clash begins at 8 p.m. IST (10:30 a.m. local time/ 2:30 p.m. GMT).

It was pre-decided by the ICC that India would play the second semifinal in Guyana in case they qualified for the knockouts of the 2024 T20 World Cup. This decision was taken keeping the viewership factor in mind.

The first semifinal, which will be contested between South Africa and Afghanistan, begins at 6 a.m. IST. The 8 p.m slot is much more viewer-friendly for the Indian audience.

Meanwhile, there are chances of weather affecting the India vs England semifinal in Guyana. As per the weather prediction for Thursday, there are chances of rain during the match. It must be noted that there's no reserve day for the India vs England second semifinal, as the final is scheduled for June 29.

In case of weather interruption during the match, an additional time of 250 minutes has been allotted to try and finish the knockout game. A minimum of 10 overs per innings need to be bowled in the semifinals for a game to be constituted as complete.

If there's no result, India will progress to the final, as they topped Group 1 whereas England finished second in Group 2 in the Super 8 stage.


How India reached the semifinals of 2024 T20 World Cup

Team India are unbeaten in the 2024 T20 World Cup so far. They topped Group A, with seven points from four matches.

Rohit Sharma and co. played their first three matches in New York. They beat Ireland by eight wickets, Pakistan by six runs and United States by seven wickets. Their match against Canada in Florida was washed out due to rain.

The Men in Blue continued their domination in the Super 8 stage. They beat Afghanistan by 47 runs in Barbados, Bangladesh by 50 runs in Antigua and Australia by 24 runs in St Lucia.

India will be keen to continue their winning run when they take on England in the second semifinal on Thursday.
