India will take on South Africa in the ICC Men's 2024 T20 World Cup final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday, June 29. Both the Men in Blue and the Proteas are unbeaten in the tournament and would love one more win to clinch the coveted ICC title.

South Africa were the first team to book their place in the summit clash. They thumped Afghanistan by nine wickets in the first semifinal at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. Batting first, Afghanistan were bundled out for 56 in 11.5 overs as Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi picked up three scalps. In the chase, the Proteas got home in 8.5 overs.

India came up with a clinical effort to defeat England in the second semifinal at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Batting first, the Men in Blue posted 171-7 on a slow and low pitch as Rohit Sharma (57 off 39) led from the front. Axar Patel (3-23) and Kuldeep Yadav (3-19) then combined as England were bowled out for 103.

While fans would love a great India vs South Africa final, there are chances of rain playing spoilsport as the weather forecast for Saturday in Barbados is not that great - even a storm warning has been issued. A minimum of 10 overs per side need to be bowled for a result in the 2024 T20 World Cup final.

If the same is not possible on the scheduled day of the final, the summit clash will be moved to the reserve day on June 30. However, every possible effort will be made to finish the match on June 29. Rule 13.6.2.2. of ICC's playing conditions for the 2024 World Cup states:

"If the reserve day is allocated, every effort will be made to complete the match on the scheduled day with any necessary reduction in overs taking place and only if the minimum number of overs necessary to constitute a match cannot be bowled on the scheduled day will the match be completed on the reserve day."

Further, 190 minutes of extra time has been allocated for the 2024 T20 World Cup final and also to its reserve day as per clause 13.7.3.6. If a result cannot be achieved even on the reserve day, both India and South Africa will be declared joint winners of the competition.
