When is India's next match in 2024 T20 World Cup?

Team India hammered Afghanistan by 47 runs in the 2024 T20 World Cup Group 1 Super 8 match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Thursday, June 20. Batting first after winning the toss, the Men in Blue posted 181-8. Afghanistan were poor in response and were bowled out for 134.

India lost Rohit Sharma (8), Rishabh Pant (20) and Virat Kohli (24) early, while Shivam Dube (10) again failed to make an impact. However, Suryakumar Yadav (53 off 28) played a brilliant knock, slamming five fours and three sixes. He added 60 for the fifth wicket with Hardik Pandya (32 off 24) as the Men in Blue recovered well to post a competitive score.

In their chase, Afghanistan could never get going, as Jasprit Bumrah (3-7) was exceptional again, while Arshdeep Singh (3-36) and Kuldeep Yadav (2-32) also came up with significant performances.

India's next Super 8 match is against Bangladesh

Having aced the Afghanistan challenge, Team India's next assignment in the Super 8 stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup will be against another Asian side - Bangladesh.

The Men in Blue vs Bangladesh match will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Saturday, June 22. The game will begin at 8 p.m. IST and 10:30 a.m. local time.

Bangladesh progressed to the Super 8 round of the 2024 World Cup from Group D, winning three of four matches. They began their campaign with a thrilling two-wicket win over Sri Lanka in a low-scoring game at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.

In their second match, the Asian team went down to South Africa by four runs in New York in another close game.

Bangladesh confirmed their place in the Super 8 round with consecutive wins over Netherlands and Nepal.

They got the better of the Dutch side by 25 runs in St Vincent and Nepal by 21 runs at the same venue. They will, however, have their task cut out against a rampant Indian side who are yet to lose in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
