New Zealand will take on Papua New Guinea in match number 39 of the ICC Men's 2024 T20 World Cup at the Brian Lara Stadium at Tarouba in Trinidad on Monday, June 17. The Group C match will begin at 8:00 PM IST and 10:30 AM local time.

The Kiwis hammered Uganda by nine wickets in their previous match at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. Bowling first, they bundled out Uganda for 40 in 18.4 overs and then gunned down the target in 5.2 overs. However, it was too late in the day as they had already been knocked out of the Super 8 race following losses to Afghanistan and West Indies.

Papua New Guinea have had their moments in the 2024 T20 World Cup. They gave a tough fight to the West Indies in their opening match and came close to winning against Uganda, eventually going down by three wickets. Having been hammered by seven wickets by Afghanistan, they will be keen to sign off from the tournament with a better display.

Having made their T20 World Cup debut in the 2021 edition in the UAE, Papua New Guinea have played six matches in the tournament and are still searching for their maiden victory.

Papua New Guinea's first match in the T20 World Cup was against Oman in Al Amerat in October 2021. PNG batted first and were held to 129-9 as Zeeshan Maqsood claimed 4-20. Oman chased down the score with all 10 wickets in hand, needing only 13.4 overs to cross the target.
