Sandeep Sharma is a professional Indian cricketer who came through the ranks of the Indian Under-19 cricket team at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2012. He made early inroads in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with his lethal swing bowling upfront in the powerplay overs. As of IPL 2024, Sharma has taken 62 IPL wickets in the powerplay, only behind Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Trent Boult.
In the IPL, Sharma has represented multiple teams including the the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Rajasthan Royals. He is also the third-highest wicket-taker of all-time for the Kings in the IPL with 73 wickets under his belt, only behind Piyush Chawla and Arshdeep Singh.

Sandeep Sharma IPL Teams from 2013-25
Sandeep Sharma made his IPL debut for the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2013 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. He represented the Kings for five straight seasons before moving to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018. After playing four editions for the Sunrisers, Sharma returned to the Punjab Kings in IPL 2022. In IPL 2023, the Rajasthan Royals signed Sharma and played a couple of seasons. According to Rajasthan Royals' official website, the Royals have retained Sharma for the 2025 edition of the mega event.

Sandeep Sharma IPL Auction Price
In the IPL 2013 auction, the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) acquired the services of Sandeep Sharma for INR 10 lakhs. He was bought back by the Kings for INR 85 lakhs at the IPL 2014 auction and was retained for the same price across four straight seasons. In the IPL 2018 mega auction, the Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased Sandeep Sharma for INR 3 crore and was retained for the same price till the IPL 2021 edition.
Ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, SRH released him and the Punjab Kings bought him back once again for INR 50 lakhs, according to the IPL’s official website. He was released again and found no takers at the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Howsoever, the Rajasthan Royals signed him as a replacement for INR 50 lakhs to replace their injured pacer Prasidh Krishna, according to The Times Of India. He was retained for the same price and the Royals have enlisted him amongst their retention for INR 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, as per the official social media handle of the IPL.
