In what was a must win game for both teams, Australia held their nerves to hold onto a close win against Bangladesh winning by 3 wickets. Bangladesh, after having been put to bat, put up a decent score of 156 on board thanks to some late hitting by in-form batsman Mahmudullah.
Australian opener, Usman Khawaja once again showed why he was in the squad ahead of Aaron Finch as he scored a responsibly made 50 to set the foundation for a comfortable chase. Although Australia lost a few wickets later on, they were able to hold on to ensure that there was no upset.
David Warner reached a T20 career milestone emphasising how good a player he is in the shortest format of the game, despite batting lower down the order.
Bangladesh will be looking to win their first game of the tournament proper when they take on India on Wednesday.
