Sunil Narine is a professional West Indian cricketer who has found one of the early yet legendary mainstays of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is an IPL giant, not only with his mystery spin but also with his newly found mojo with the bat at the top of the batting order.
Narine is enlisted in the top five wicket-takers in IPL history, as he is the fifth-leading wicket-taker of all time and only the third-highest wicket-taker amongst spinners in the IPL. According to the official Instagram handle of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Narine is the first and only cricketer to win the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award thrice in IPL history.

Sunil Narine IPL Runs Year-wise
Sunil Narine started his IPL career as a lower-order batter. However, former Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir promoted him to open the innings and he has explored his batting skillset considerably. He has scored 1534 runs in 110 innings, as of IPL 2024. Narine scored his maiden IPL ton against the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024, which was also his career-best season with the bat. En route to his maiden T20 century, Narine became only the third KKR batter to score a century in IPL, after Brendon McCullum and Venkatesh Iyer. He racked up 488 runs with the bat in 14 innings and became the first player to win three IPL titles with the Knight Riders.
