Yuvraj Singh's father, Yograj Singh is an Indian actor and a retired cricketer who played just one Test and six ODIs for India as a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He hails from the village of Kanech, just next to Doraha, in Ludhiana District of Punjab.

A Short Span in Cricket
Singh made his Test debut at Wellington versus New Zealand during India’s 1980-81 tour of Australia and New Zealand. India lost that Test by 62 runs. He just bowled in the first innings and had figures of 1/63. His sole Test wicket came in the form of John Wright.
Yograj's performances in the ODIs weren’t up to the mark either. In 5 innings, he took just 4 wickets at an average of 46.50.
Singh played in seven first-class matches on the tour and returned with only 13 wickets.
He played 30 first-class matches for Haryana and Punjab. Singh scalped 66 wickets at an average of 26.60.

Life After Cricket
After his career got halted by injury, he entered the Punjabi film industry and has acted in a number of films. He has also worked in Bollywood movies such as Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Singh is Bling, and Teen Thay Bhai.

Married Life
Yograj married Shabnam Singh, but the two divorced later. Their elder son Yuvraj Singh has been a famous left-handed all-rounder of the Indian cricket team. He also has another son, Zoravar Singh, with Shabnam.
Yograj has another son (Victor) and daughter (Amarjot Kaur) with his second wife, Meena.

The Controversy King
The former cricketer has landed himself in trouble multiple times, mostly because of his comments in the media. Once he was in the news for his comments regarding MS Dhoni, the captain for the Indian team, at the time. Singh claimed that MS Dhoni was behind Yuvraj Singh's expulsion from the 2015 World Cup team and alleged that Dhoni has become 'great' just because of the hype generated by the media. He also remarked: "There will be a day when Dhoni will be left to beg and become penniless and would not get any favor."
Earlier, in the year 2014, Yuvraj Singh’s father was arrested by Haryana Police in connection with an alleged dispute over car parking in Panchkula.
He’s often in the news because of his controversial comments.
