Dynasty Warriors Origins’ Wei True Ending Route requires two battles: The Battle of Wan and Battle of Bailang. The first is to save the monstrously powerful Dian Wei, and the second is to prevent the death of Guo Jia — not to an enemy, but to his own self-destructive ways. Once you’ve completed this map appropriately, you’ll see a brand-new event at the Battle of Chibi, which is quite exciting.
However, like these battles, it’s a race against time, but I will say I found this one to be easier than the Battle of Wan was. That said, Battle of Bailang is still required if you want to unlock the Wei True Ending in Dynasty Warriors Origins. If you’re struggling, here’s how we did it.

How to complete Battle of Bailang to achieve Wei True Ending in Dynasty Warriors Origins
When you’re ready to tackle the Battle of Bailang for Dynasty Warriors Origins’ Wei True Ending, you must first complete the aforementioned Battle of Wan Castle. If you altered fate there, you can then head to Story Mode in any inn/residence in the game. Then swap over to Wei, Chapter 5, and scroll down to the Golden Banner for the Battle of Bailang. This is another battle I highly recommend you play on Historian difficulty. Also, select Guo Jia as your partner.
The reason for this is, like the others, it’s a race against time. In my experience, I had roughly 8-10 minutes to complete the main portion of this battle. The Bailuan duel takes up some time too, but by then, you’ve already altered fate. The goal of this battle is to defeat Yuan Shang before Cao Cao is defeated or Guo Jia spends too much time in the cold.
Canonically, he dies after the defeat of Yuan Shang, perhaps from tuberculosis or another lung-related illness. That means we cannot stray from our duty on this map at all. That means no helping allies in the main section of the map ever. As you’ll see in the video above, I focus entirely on the left side of the map.
The goal is to make sure Tian Chou’s sneak attack goes off without a hitch in Dynasty Warriors Origins’ Battle of Bailang to unlock the Wei True Ending. Thankfully, that means your actual objectives are incredibly simple. Start by heading northwest into the nearby base and opening the gate south. You might be able to get away with clearing this base, but I didn’t.
Instead, defeat Nengchendizhi in the southern base, quickly clear this base and claim it, and open the gates/ride west up the long, winding path. The next step of the Dynasty Warriors Origins Wei True Ending will see you clear another small base to your northwest. Defeat the generic officer, clear the base swiftly, and move onto the winding path north. If you’re going fast enough, Guo Jia will compliment the army but say they need to press harder.
The next stop is the base to the north. Nanlou and two generic officers await here, so smash them down with whatever skills you have available, and move on up the next path on the edge of the map.
Next, you battle Bailuan during the Battle of Bailang in Dynasty Warriors Origins. This is a relatively easy fight, so just smash through him like any other officer. Once he’s bested, he’ll retreat — you won’t see him again until the very end of the battle. Here’s where things really get intense, though — wait a few moments, and your group should set up an Ambush. Join it and ride north!
If you get here fast enough, just before your army completes the ambush, you’ll see Fate Altered pop up on the screen. Of course, you still need to win the battle without Cao Cao being defeated, so this is still a very dangerous time for you — and you could lose. Defeat these four officers as fast as you can.
Lou Ban, Supuyan, Wu Yan, and Ta Dun are here. Ta Dun is going to try and meet up with the Yuan army to the east — do not let that happen. Once these four are defeated, your army will set up a charge. Here’s the final test for the Dynasty Warriors Origins Wei True Ending route at the Battle of Bailang.
Focus on Yuan Shang anytime you can. All you need to do to win is defeat him. Breaking his large army isn’t important. Just focus him down and bully him. This is a great time to swap to Guo Jia, and spam lots of free sword attacks to break him down.
Once he’s bested, your army backs off, and you have to dual Bailuan. It’s like the previous version of this dual, so just parry, dodge, and overcome his icy attacks. What makes this battle so frustrating is the way it all comes out.
Towards the end of the battle, Cao Cao is going to be under heavy attack by many officers. Some of his guardians will no doubt be bested, and forced to retreat. In my experience, he was close to 15% health when I won — it was getting very close. You cannot get distracted by that if you want to unlock the final part of Wei’s True Ending in Dynasty Warriors Origins. Now, all that’s left is to tackle The Battle of Chibi.
