Appearance
Each weapon has two forms, one when it is initially summoned and another once it has reached a certain level of ascension. Once this occurs, the weapon will undergo a change in its design. Festering Desire is a dark blade powered by the blood of a fallen dragon. Its blade and handle are pitch black with purple lines running along the middle of its blade, converging on a singular point near the handle of the sword
Non-Ascended
Festering Desire pulsates a fierce purple, with it being pooled within the center of the blade.
Ascended
The colors of Festering Desire shift from purple to a brighter shade of pink. The pink center near its blade now takes the appearance of an eye
Story
This was a story from long ago...
Unborn life, unfulfilled wishes,
Tragic dreams at the edge of the universal darkness that could never come true,
Indwell my body, and descend unto this world.
Then, my lovely children,
Like rainwater flowing into creeks, and plants growing towards the sun,
Go unto a lovely place, and display your own beauty there with pride.
This is a memory, a memory that a child named Durin had of his mother...
"Thank you, Mother, thank you."
"You gave me wings to soar and a mighty form."
"Mother, I wish to go to a land of lovely songs,"
"I will tell them about you, Mother, and about everyone else."
"I shall tell them that the place where I was born is beautiful."
Trivia
-During its event run, Festering Desire received a 1.5X EXP boost towards its ascension

FAQs
Is Festering Desire good?
It is an excellent choice of weapon for characters who are mainly focused on using their Elemental Skill/Burst and then swapping out, thanks to its plentiful Energy Recharge and sizable boost to Elemental Skill damage/Crit Rate.
Who are some of the best users of Festering Desire?
It is one of the strongest 4-Star options available for Jean, with her already powerful Elemental Skill being made even stronger as well as more frequent Bursts to heal your team. Bennett is also another very strong candidate, with his Skill being his main source of damage and wanting to burst on cooldown.
Is Festering Desire still available?
Currently, Festering Desire and its refinement material was only available during “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” event. It is unknown if it will be seen again in the near future.
Final Thoughts
Festering Desire is a great option for supportive characters who like to swap in, dump their abilities, and swap out. As an event weapon it is likely you have it near or at full refine if you were able to attain it during its run, making it a very attractive choice that is hard to beat out from other 4-star weapons unless at comparable refine levels.
