God of War Ragnarok has gained acclaim for its stunning landscapes, well-written characters, and a tremendous selection of animals and mythical creatures to battle. You'll also be able to enjoy one of the franchise's biggest features: boss fights. The boss encounters in God of War Ragnarok are a noteworthy success, with an impressive blend of difficulty and fun.

There are some, however, that can be irritating and slightly enraging because of the Cursed Nokkens and Nokkens.

What are Nokkens?

Nokkens are little creatures whose unnerving magical chants can bolster nearby attackers. When spotted, Nokkens tend to escape due to their poor vitality and lack of self-defense abilities. Because their sorcery makes their comrades indestructible, the Nokkens must be defeated before Kratos can effectively engage other enemies.

How are Cursed Nokkens different from Nokkens?

In all honesty, there is no real difference beyond the fact that Cursed Nokkens are essentially just stronger versions of Nokkens and thus, the same tactics apply.

How to beat Cursed Nokkens?

There is no special method or specific weapon that needs to be used to beat a Cursed Nokken as they’re vulnerable to all of the weapons that Kratos and his companions have. However, Nokkens in general tend to run away and are rather good at keeping away but despite that, if a Nokken or Cursed Nokken is a part of the fight, they should always be the first priority when one hears their horrible little chants.

Tracking them down is easy as all Kratos has to do is follow the direction of the chants or visually, this direction is hinted at by the auras of the enemies that the Nokken is empowering. This will point to where the being is and killing them isn’t a tough task. Cursed Nokkens are slightly stronger than their regular counterparts but despite that, they only need a combo hit (depending on Kratos’ level) to kill them.

FAQs

Q. Does the Nokken or Cursed Nokken’s chant make enemies immortal?

A. Yes, until either the Nokken or the Cursed Nokken is killed, the enemies that the Nokken is empowering will be a lot stronger and capable of taking a lot more damage and thus their health bar will take a lot longer to reduce as compared to their normal health status.
