What is the storyline in Forspoken?
Frey Holland, the protagonist, is a New Yorker. She doesn't fit in anywhere, but she's kept company by her fluffy white cat, Homer. Things take a strange turn when she is mysteriously changed into Athia. It's odd, but she doesn't have to face it alone. Cuff, her talking bracelet, assists her in meeting new people, such as Johedy, the archivist, and Auden.
Things need to look up in Athia. The Break has taken over, converting everything into a warped version of itself. The Tantas, Athia's matriarchs, used to rule peacefully, but after the Break, they became terrible rulers. The virtues they represented have become vices. Frey understands she must defeat all of the Tantas to return home unharmed after Tanta Sila accuses her of entering her kingdom.
