Techniques for Stop and Go
- Fake Shot Stop: The Fake Shot Stop is a classic move in every FIFA game, and it’s still a beast in EA FC 25. Here’s how to do it: while running, press the fake shot buttons (Circle/B then X/A on consoles) and let go of the left stick. Your player will instantly stop the ball. It’s perfect for throwing off defenders when they think you're about to shoot or pass. After the Stop and Go, you can follow up with a skill move, a quick pass, or simply continue dribbling to create space.
- Fake Rabona: For those of you with 5-star skillers, the Fake Rabona is a very effective to Stop and Go. To pull this off, hold down L2/LT, do a fake shot, and push the left stick in the opposite direction. Your player will stop with a smooth Fake Rabona, facing the defender and leaving you in control to either pass or pull off another skill move like the La Croqueta. This is a slick move for when you’re looking to add some flair and throw off your opponent in style.
- L1 Stop: The L1 Stop is the quickest way to halt your player on the spot. All you have to do is tap the L1 (or LB on Xbox) and let go of the left stick. Your player will stop immediately, giving you a chance to change direction or make a smart pass. It’s especially useful when you’re dribbling at full speed and need to stop quickly to get a better position. Just be aware that if you’re sprinting, it might take a split second longer to come to a full stop, but it's still super effective for messing with defenders.
With these skills, you can easily confuse the defenders, forcing them to go the opposite direction while you quickly change tracks and make a run behind.
