The British Grand Prix is one of the most iconic and historically significant track events in Formula 1. The race has been hosted annually since 1948 and has been a part of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship since its debut in 1950. The British Grand Prix is currently held at the iconic Silverstone Racing Circuit. This special event in F1 beholds an impressive history that stretches back to 1926, when it was first held on Brooklands Circuit.

The British Grand Prix has produced some of the most legendary drivers in Formula 1 history. The first British GP was won by Giuseppe Farina driving for Alfa Romeo in 1950. The Silverstone track underwent several transformations over the decades. From 1926 to 1948, the track hosted races held by the Royal Automobile Club (RAC). Then it went through the British Racing Drivers Club's legislative process in the 1970s. Today, the circuit holds the oldest race in F1 since its inception in 1950. Silverstone's contract to host Formula One races will last until at least 2034.
