Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, popularly known as S.S.C Napoli or simply Napoli is a professional Italian football club plying its trade in the top flight known as Serie A. Founded on the 1st of August, 1926, the club has the 4th biggest fanbase in Italy.
Napoli are also referred to, from time to time, as Partenopei, Gli Azzurri (The Light Blues) and Ciucciarelli (The Little Donkeys). Stadio San Paolo is the home ground of Napoli. Their home colors Blue and White is quite iconic.
Napoli has been home to some of the greatest players to have ever graced the game. Diego Maradona, Gianfranco Zola, Careca, Fabio Cannavaro, Edinson Cavani, Gonzalo Higuain etc. have all played for the club at some point in their career. Napoli has won the league title twice in history and the Coppa Italia 5 times. They have won the Supercopa Italiana twice and have also won the 1988-89 UEFA Super Cup.
The Blues are well known for having a passionate fan base that supports their team through thick and thin. The Napoli Ultras always turn up to their team's home matches and creates a phenomenal atmosphere at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium which has a capacity of 55,000 seats. Currently the Italian club is managed by former Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti.
Spalletti has helped Napoli to finish with an impressive 3rd place in the points table which guarantees them a Champions League spot for the upcoming season.
