Former Manchester United star Raphael Varane is ready to try and convince Marcus Rashford to join Serie A side Como, as per a report from The Sun. Como gained promotion from Serie B to Serie A in 2024. Currently coached by former Arsenal and Chelsea icon Cesc Fabregas, the Italian side want to fetch the signature of Rashford, whom they believe will be a solid addition to their squad.

Como are in 16th position in Serie A. While they have signed players like Andrea Belotti, Nico Paz, Pepe Reina, Sergi Roberto and Alberto Moreno, the newly promoted side still need some proper signings up front to make a mark in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Como are not the only club to have shown their interest in the Manchester United forward. Clubs like Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are keen to acquire his services as well.

As per Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Como won't be facing any problems in signing Rashford from an economic point of view. Moreover, the presence of Raphael Varane, who is working as an ambassador at Como after retiring from football, could help make the deal easier for the 16th-placed Serie A side.

However, as of now, the probablity of Rashford making his way to AC Milan can't be thrown out of the window. As per the report in The Sun, Rashford's brother Dwaine was in Milan this week to speak to AC Milan over a potential transfer.

Adding to that, Tottenham Hotspur are seemingly interested in bagging a loan move for Rashford, who could be a strong option in their attacking arsenal.

The Manchester United forward has been a part of the club since 2016. However, his form has been questioned by pundits and fans at times. This season, he has appeared 24 times for the Red Devils, scoring only seven goals and delivering three assists.

Manchester United struggling under Ruben Amorim

After parting ways with Dutchman Erik ten Hag, the Manchester United board brought in Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim to prevent the sinking of their ship. Amorim enjoyed a bright start to life at Manchester United, managing two wins and a draw in his first three games in charge.

Last month, Amorim's side were able to derail Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the derby too. But they are yet to register a win in their next five matches since that triumph.

The only acceptable result came against Liverpool, which was Manchester United's latest game last Sunday (January 5). The match ended 2-2 after Lisandro Martinez gave them a lead in the second half.

Up next, the Red Devils will face Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday, January 12.
