Arnaut Danjuma, who is currently playing for Girona on loan from Villareal, has expressed his interest in joining Liverpool. The Dutch winger played on loan last season at Liverpool's city-rivals Everton.

Danjuma registered 14 appearances for the Toffees in the Premier League and managed to find the back of the net only once. His performances were certainly not up to the mark. Notably, Danjuma has also represented Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth in England.

While Liverpool themselves are yet to show interest in him, Arne Slot had done so when he was the manager at Feyenoord.

In an interaction with ESPN Netherlands program De Voetbalkantine, Arnaut Danjuma said:

"As a player, you have to be ambitious and if a big club comes, you should always consider it. I don’t think there will be many people sitting at the table there who will say no to Liverpool. Feyenoord had shown a bit more interest in me (in 2023)."

He added:

"That was mainly when Slot was the coach there. I considered it at the time and spoke to Slot. I am a fan of his style of play and have a lot of confidence in him as a coach.”

Going by what Danjuma claimed, a possible move to Arne Slot's Liverpool in the future could be a possibility. However, Liverpool have a way of working. They use precise data to brainstorm various profiles suitable to their way of playing. If the Dutch winger ticks all the boxes, then he might be seen representing Liverpool in the coming years.

The current scenario at Liverpool suggests that the Merseyside club might be in need of a winger. Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his contract and the club are yet to offer him an extension.

Liverpool in the 2024-25 season

Liverpool have been banking on the camaraderie and technical prowess of two wingers in the current campaign. On one hand, there is Luis Diaz, who is third in the goal-scoring charts in the Premier League. Mohamed Salah, meanwhile has not only scored four goals but has also provided the same number of assists.

The club currently sit atop the Premier League table with 15 points from six games. Their only loss was against Nottingham Forest. Even in the Champions League, they have started on a dominant note. In their opening group-stage clash, Arne Slot's side got the better of AC Milan at the San Siro, defeating them 3-1.
