What is the lore behind Wick's Katana in Fortnite?
There is no lore that connects Wick's Katana to the storyline in Fortnite. However, the cosmetic item as the name suggests, belongs to none other than John Wick. John Wick can be seen using this katana in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum while fighting against Zero. He was the leader and mentor to a group of ninja-assassins based in New York City.
Coming back to the cosmetic item, Wick's Katana is both a Back Bling and a Pickaxe. They are two separate cosmetics that share the same name. As such, this can cause a fair bit of confusion. Nevertheless, both of the cosmetic items are different. The Back Bling features Wick's Katana sheathed, while the Pickaxe features Wick's Katana unsheathed. That said, despite these being two separate cosmetic items, they both share the same official in-game description which reads, “For when your target is wielding a blade and you run out of ammo.”
As of John Wick himself, he has never played a role in the storyline. With the saga coming to an end, it is unlikely that he will be seen in-game. However, his unofficial snapshot called The Reaper can perhaps yet be featured in-game again in the near future.
