What is the lore behind John Wick in Fortnite?

There is no lore that connects John Wick to the storyline in Fortnite. However, the character in question has been cemented in pop-culture. Ever since appearing on the big screen, John Wick has made quite the name for himself. In fact, before Epic Games did the official collaboration, the character called The Reaper, bearing the likeness of John Wick was added to the game in Chapter 1. The community took to fondly calling this character “fake” John Wick. Nevertheless, it was still a great addition to the game in season 3. Fast forward to season 9, John Wick made his debut. Suffice to say, he is an OG character as well.

That said, John Wick is just another character in the Metaverse. While in the franchise he might be the person that they send to deal with the boogeyman, in Fortnite, he’s an average joe. Nevertheless, playing as John Wick can be intimidating to opponents. He’s not considered ‘sweaty skin’, but players do tend to keep their distance when they spot the character in-game. His official description reads, "Every action has consequences.” This is likely a reference to the fact that he came out of retirement after his dog was killed.

Should you buy John Wick in Fortnite? If you are a fan of the John Wick franchise, the answer is a flat out, yes. You should definitely buy John Wick and add the character to your locker. What’s more is that, since the character looks like Keanu Reeves, in a way, it actually feels like you’re cosplaying as him in-game. Unfortunately, you will not be able to use it while exploring new LEGO Fortnite seeds. He does not have a LEGO model yet.
