Fortnite Ballistic is a brand-new 5v5 round-based game mode where players will be pitched in two teams — attackers and defenders. The attackers' objective is to plant the Rift Point Device, a reality-tearing bomb, and let it explode. On the other hand, the defenders must prevent the attackers from planting and detonating this explosive device.
Fortnite Ballistic features a host of unique weapons and new devices that players can use to enhance their gameplay and emerge victorious. The different types of weapons allow players to choose different classes such as assault, sniper, tactical, and more. The game begins with a starter weapon and limited credits and players must defeat the other team in each round to win a total of seven rounds.
Ballistic starts with a total of ten players who are sorted into two groups — attackers and defenders. The attackers must plant a Rift Point Device and as for the defenders, their goal is to prevent the said bomb from being planted or worse, exploding. Currently Ballistic offers players one map, Skyline 10 — Epic promises that more are on the way.
Players begin the game with only a Ranger Pistol and 800 credits. Credits are currency that you can use to purchase weapons and additional items at the beginning of each round to bolster your chances of winning. You earn credits by eliminating opponents and planting the Rift Point Device. If you survive at the end of a round, the items you hold are carried forward to the next round.
Fortnite Ballistic can be played by a total of ten players split into two teams of five each. Just like Battle Royale, you have two game modes to choose from — unranked and ranked.
Unranked offers players a casual experience to hone their skills without penalizations or rank loss. On the other hand, ranked will pitch players against each other in serious competition. If a player leaves mid-match, they are given a rank penalty as well as a timeout before they can join another match.
Unlike regular game modes, Fortnite Ballistic will not offer respawns if a player is eliminated — you lose all your weapons and items and must wait for a new round before you can play. You can also drop and purchase weapons for your teammates. Additionally, you can also pick up weapons and items from the eliminated players as well for use in the round or to keep beyond it if you survive.
Apart from a host of weapons, Ballistic also offers flex gadgets like the recon grenade, proximity mine, bubble shield, and more to augment your gameplay or place a trap for an opponent. Head into this exciting new first-person shooter and fight your way to victory.
