Marvel Rivals players are encountering an issue with in-game purchases on Steam. When attempting to buy items such as the Battle Pass, users are met with an error message stating, "An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed." This problem originates from server-side issues, preventing transactions from being processed.

The most effective solution for now is patience, as the error typically resolves itself within a few hours. While players may be tempted to contact Steam Support, raising a ticket is unlikely to expedite a resolution, as the issue often resolves before support teams can intervene. NetEase Games, the developer of Rivals, is aware of the problem and actively working on a permanent fix.

The developer has tweeted out urging players to check if the Steam Overlay is enabled. Here's the process the NetEase Games suggested the affected players need to follow:

• To get to the setting, you need to first open Steam.
• Click on the "Settings" option after clicking on "Steam" in the top left corner. Head in-game and there toggle on the option to enable Steam Overlay.
• If enabling it doesn't work or it was already enabled then try uninstalling and then reinstalling Steam.
• Additionally, clearing the Steam cache or switching to a different payment method within Steam settings might temporarily bypass the error.

However, these steps may not guarantee success for all users. Other than these generic fixes, there isn't an official one yet. Players are advised to remain patient as the developer works on producing the fix.
