About Argentina Open 2023

The ATP Buenos Aires Open, originally known as the Argentina International Championships is a clay-court tournament which is a part of the ATP 250 category. The inaugural edition of the competition took place in 1927 and it has since been held most years.

While the Argentina Open isn’t the biggest tournament around, there have been some big names who won it. These include Rafael Nadal, Ivan Lendl, Fred Perry and Guillermo Vilas.

Casper Ruud won the tournament last year by beating Diego Schwartzman in the final. The Norwegian will not be defending his title in 2023 but there are some notable names that will compete, including Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie. Home favorite Diego Schwartzman will also participate at the Argentina Open and is seeded fourth.

Dominic Thiem, who won the tournament in 2016, received a wildcard for the main draw and will be eager to have a good run in Buenos Aires.

Date and Venue

The 2023 Argentina Open will take place from February 13-19 and it will be held at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club which has a capacity of 5,500 spectators. The stadium has previously hosted numerous Davis Cup and Fed Cup fixtures in the past.
