Played in Seoul, the Korea Open is an outdoor tennis tournament also known as the Hana Bank Korea Open. The event has been upgraded from the WTA 250 tournament in 2023 to the WTA 500 tournament in 2024. It will commence on September 16, 2024, and end on September 22, 2024.

The next edition was also delayed and later downgraded from WTA 250 to WTA 125 level tournament. However, it was again upgraded to a WTA 250 tournament in 2022 and was introduced as a WTA 500 tournament in 2024. Last year, World No. 6 Jessica Pegula won the Korea Open, becoming the first American player since Venus Williams to win the title in 2007.
