About Women's Tri-Series in Australia 2020
The 2020 Australia Women’s Tri-series will be played between Australia women, England women and the India women cricket team. This tri-series will commence on 31 January 2020 and conclude on 12 February 2020.All the matches of the women’s tri-series in Australia will be Women’s Twenty20 International (WT2oI) matches.
Significance for The Teams
This will be the final series for all these three teams before the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which begins in Sydney on 21 February 2020. The tri-series will give all three sides the best possible preparation for the World Cup. Australia is the defending champions of the Women's T20 World Cup and playing with two of their biggest competitor will be mutually beneficial to all the teams involved.
The India Women's cricket team will be using this series as an opportunity to test the strength of the squad and adapt to the conditions. In addition to this, both Australia and India are in the same group for the 2020 ICC Women’s Twenty20 World Cup.
Format and Venue
The matches will be played at Manuka Oval, Canberra and Junction Oval, St Kilda. All the three teams will play each other twice and the top two teams with most points will play the final on 12 February at Junction Oval, St Kilda.
