About Delray Beach Open 2023

The Delray Beach Open is a hard-court tournament which is held in Delray Beach, Florida. It started as a clay-court tournament in 1993 but became a hard-court event from 2000 onwards.

The Delray Beach Open received its current name in 2017 after undergoing a number of name changes over the years. It was previously known as America’s Red Clay Tennis Championships, International Tennis Championships, Citrix Tennis Championships and Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.

Todd Martin won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 1993 by beating compatriot David Wheaton in the final. Other champions include Lleyton Hewitt, Marin Cilic and Mardy Fish.

The Brit won’t be defending his title this year, instead opting to play in the Argentina Open. However, there are some well-known players competing at the 2023 Delray Beach Open, including Taylor Fritz, Australian Open semifinalist Tommy Paul and Denis Shapovalov.
