About Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G
The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship is one of the most anticipated women's golf events on the LPGA Tour network and is known to have the best of the best female golfers teeing off in Rogers, Arkansas. It is a relatively new championship, debuting in 2007, and has since been played at the beautiful yet challenging course, the Pinnacle Country Club. Although it was a successful tournament and had been going on since the Walmart NW Arkansas, it did not have a smooth start. The tournament had to be cut short in its first year due to terrible weather conditions. Stacy Lewis, a then-senior at the University of Arkansas was named the unofficial winner.
Next year, in 2008, Procter and Gamble became the tournament's title sponsor, branded the tournament under its "P&G" beauty line, and continued to do so till 2010. Soon, in 2010 again, Walmart joined as a presenting sponsor, and in 2011, it took over and became the title sponsor, and P&G ended up becoming the presenting sponsor.
