About Malaysia Masters 2020
The PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2020 or simply the 2020 Malaysia Masters is annual badminton tournament that is a part of the HSBC BWF World Tour included in the Super 500 series. It was formerly classified as a Grand Prix Gold tournament. The tournament is organised by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), while it is sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Malaysia Masters History
The tournament was introduced in the year 2009, and belongs to the newer set of tournaments compared to the likes of French Open and the All England Open. The Malaysia Masters has won several prestigious sponsors over the years and has found a place among the most revered tournaments in the Super 500 series. The competition is currently sponsored by PERODUA (Malaysia).
Malaysia Masters 2020 Dates and Venue
The Malaysia Masters 2020 will be the 12th edition of the competition and is being held from 7 - 12 January 2020.
The tournament will be held at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Axiata Arena or the Putra Indoor Stadium is an indoor arena in the premises of National Sports Complex of Bukit Jalil, with a capacity of 14,425. The arena has hosted some of the most notable events in the country and not just pertaining to sports.
Malaysia Masters 2020 Prize Money and Points Distribution
The Malaysia Masters 2020 has a total purse of $400,000. The distribution of the prize money will be according to stipulations of the BWF regulations. The table below shows the distribution:-

Points Distribution
According to the BWF points system, the winner will get 9,200 and the runner-up will get 7800 while the lowest ranked players will get at least 40 points.
