About The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches 2025

The Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches 2025 is scheduled to take place from February 27, 2025, to March 2, 2025, at the PGA National Resort and Spa's Champion Course. It originally began as Jackie Gleason's Inverrary Classic in 1972, and the inaugural winner was the legendary Jack Nicklaus. The event has changed several sponsors over the years, and since late 2023, it has been sponsored by Cognizant.
The Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches history
The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches evolved from its predecessor, the National Airlines Open Invitational (1969–1971). It gave way to the Jackie Gleason Inverrary Classic in 1972, which became the PGA Tour's most lucrative event. Over the years, the tournament underwent multiple name and location changes due to sponsorship shifts and venue adjustments.
The event relocated from Inverrary to TPC Eagle Trace (1984-1991), then to Weston Hills (1992-1995), before returning to Coral Springs and then settling in Palm Beach Gardens in 2003. Since 2007, the event has been staged on the Champion Course at PGA National Resort and Spa, with the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation as the principal beneficiary.
Honda's long-term sponsorship of the tournament expired in 2023. However, the PGA Tour's Championship Management Division took over and secured a six-year sponsorship contract with Cognizant.
