About The Greater Toledo Classic 2025
The Greater Toledo Classic will be held from July 25-27 at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio, USA. It was started in 1984 and has changed its name multiple times, most recently from 2022 to 2024 as Dana Open. However, in 2025, it will be rebranded as Greater Toledo Classic, as announced by Toledo Classic, Inc. in November 2024.
The Greater Toledo Classic will be hosted by Stacy Lewis, a 13-time LPGA champion with two majors. Further, for the event, the LPGA, the Epson Tour, and the Legends of the LPGA will collaborate and instead of 72-hole stroke play, it will have dual 54-hole stroke play. Forty-two LPGA Legends players and 102 Epson Tour players will compete in the first two rounds with their respective tours. The tours will be merged for the final round after the 36-hole cut.
The Greater Toledo Classic History
It all started in 1984 when PGA Tour caddie Judd Silverman approached then-LPGA Commissioner John Laupheimer with his idea of holding a professional women's golf tournament in Toledo, his home state. Following clearance, Silverman reached out to sponsors and actor Jamie Farr to serve as the event's host. The result of all his hard work was the first Jamie Farr Toledo Classic, which was held at Stone Oak Country Club (then Glengarry Country Club).
In 1988, the course was changed to Highland Meadows Golf Club. The tournament decided in 2024 to work with the LPGA to combine the Epson and LPGA Legends Tours for a dual event instead of holding its annual LPGA tournament. Further, children in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan have benefited from the event's millions of dollars in donations to local children's organizations since its inception in 1984.
The Greater Toledo Classic 2025 Schedule
