The Masters Tournament 2025 is scheduled to take place from April 10 and will conclude on April 13. It will be taking place at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, in the United States.
The 2025 season will mark the 89th edition of the historic event and the first major of the season. The course reportedly sustained some damage in September 2024 as a result of Hurricane Helene. However, it was refuted in January 2025 when Fred Ridley declared that, other than a few trees, there had been no damage to the course.
The Masters Tournament History
Bobby Jones came up with the concept for Augusta National. Since he intended to construct a golf course when he retired from playing, he turned to Clifford Roberts, who would go on to become the club's chairman, for assistance. In Augusta, Georgia, they discovered a plot of land that had been used as a plant nursery since 1857 and as an indigo plantation in the early nineteenth century.
In 1931, Jones and Alister MacKenzie began working on the design of the course, and it was opened for play by 1932–33. The inaugural event, then known as the "Augusta National Invitation Tournament," took place in 1934. The first winner of the Masters Tournament was Horton Smith. The event got its name as the "Masters Tournament" in 1939.

The Masters Tournament 2025 Course
The Masters Tournament, since its inception in 1934, has been held at the Augusta National Golf Club. The course was established by Bobby Jones, the brainchild of the Masters Tournament, with Clifford Roberts. It was built on a nursery plantation of 365 acres. The course opened for play in 1932 and was designed by Alister MacKenzie and Bobby Jones.
Augusta National Inc. owns the club, which is for profit, although they do not publish its income, membership list, holdings, or ticket sales. It was ranked first among America's 100 greatest courses by Golf Digest in 2009. According to Golfweek Magazine's 2011 ranking of the finest classic courses in the United States, it ranks 10th in terms of course architecture.
Augusta National has never received a rating, in contrast to the majority of other private or public golf courses in the United States. However, the course received an unofficial rating of 76.2 from a group of USGA raters assembled by Golf Digest to examine it during the 1990 Masters Tournament. After a 2009 reevaluation, it received an unofficial rating of 78.1.
