The Toyota Owners 400 has a record of unique engagement with the audience. It was usually held after the Daytona 500 race. The Toyota Owners 400 was preceded by an essay competition during the Daytona Speedweek. The winner of this essay competition would get to have their name on the official race titles. T

he competition was later on restricted to military service members but it was a fun activity for its audience nonetheless. The Toyota Owners 400 is going to be the 6th race of one of the most exciting season’s in NASCAR. The championship contenders of past year have been making moves and they are looking forward to a battle in the Playoffs this year.

Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin are some of the most notable drivers in the starting races of the season. They have taken control of the top of the table ever since the first race of the season. Joey Logano who had an explosive start to the season has dropped down in the Cup Series Standings after being marked by a controversy regarding his gloves which were not as per the NASCAR standards.

Toyota Owners 400 History

The Toyota Owners 400 made its first appearance in 1953 with the name Richmond 200. The first race was won by Richard Petty’s father Lee Petty. It later on transitioned into the 400 lap race format it currently uses in 1976. The Richmond 400 partnered with Crown Royal in 2006, who brought about the essay competition event in 2007 running it until the 2011 Cup Series season. The race was omitted during the 2020 Cup Series due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race was won by Kyle Larson from Hendrick Motorsport in the 2023 Cup Series. The race in 2023 will be their 69th annual Spring race.

Toyota Owners 400 2024 Schedule

The race will be held on Sunday, March 31st at 7:00 PM Eastern Time according to the official NASCAR Schedule. It will be the last race in March marking the annual spring race of NASCAR. The race will last for 400 laps covering 300 miles. It will be a three-stage race and the first stage of the race will last 80 laps, the consecutive two stages will last 155 and 165 laps each.

Toyota Owners 400 2024 Venue

The Toyota Owners 400 will be held at the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia, United States. The track is a 0.75 miles long short track with Paved surface. The track is often nicknamed “Strawberry Hill”. The Richmond Raceway has a history as a dirt track which used to host the annual “Strawberry Hill” horse and car races.

The track record at America’s Premier Short Track is held by Kevin Harvick. He set a time of 0:21.849 in a Ford Mustang GT at the 2019 Toyota Owners 400 while racing for Stewart-Haas Racing. The circuit has a banking angle of 14 degree at the turns and 8 and 2 degree on the backstretch and front stretch respectively.
